Resurgam wreck status

A short article on the work being done to preserve the wreck of the Resurgam, lying off the coast of North Wales.  The Resurgam is known as the world's first mechanically powered submarine - having a steam plant.  She was 45 feet long, weighed 30 tons and unfortunately sank in 1880 in a gale encountered when returning from her maiden voyage.  She was discovered again when snagged in a trawler net in 1995.  A diver cutting the net free recognized that they'd caught a submarine.

A proposed 200 turbine windfarm may be built around the area of the wreck and the current design of the farm makes allowance for the location of the wreck.  There's also some hope that the wreck could be raised since heavy construction machinery will be working within 1000 meters or so of the wreck.
